I was at my customer garage today and he sold me two late model 4.0L engines with blowing head gaskets. There are complete engines

I think will we rebuild them and have some extra engines.

Questions Are all 4.0L blocks the same. i know the heads are different.

 

I'm pretty sure there all the same. Can't give you a 100% for sure answer tho. U otta fix one and stroke the other.

 

They changed three times. Mainly the accessory mounting holes/locations.

 

these are 2002 and 2004 4.0L

 

Had to be out of Wranglers or Grand Cherokees.

 

Oh I thought they were out of xjs MY BAD

 

grand cherokee 4.0s I will be putting them in my 97 zj or 96 xj. i was think maybe a 4.7 stroker. was looking on how to make one

96+ have girdles mounted over the crank bearing caps that stiffen up the block. Kind of like a unibody stiffener. These can be used in any year 4.0 block too. How ever, when stroking the engine, you must use 5/16 washers to space the girdle or the crank will contact it.

 

get 2 more and you can have one for each wheel
