Default The qualities of a 6" lift

As I search past discussions about projects and thoughts on the larger lifted trucks I'm having a few questions go unanswered. No doubt the trucks with 5-6" of lift look ***** to the wall awesome but what are the ride qualities like?

I would imagine what you spend and how it's set up make quite a difference, anybody feel like explaining the pitfalls and benefits of going to the larger lift. I read about the center of gravity information but what's it like on the road with.....say......32" tires?

This information on this site has been a lot to swallow and understand!

I would imagine 6 inches is pretty top heavy. For street driving you'd have to really take it easy around curves and corners. But it gives you alot more ground clearance for crawling over large things.

more or less depends on the rest of your suspension setup

control arm length and joint or bushing type, shocks and whatnot.

but ride on a taller rig is generally worse from the weight transfer on bumps, more of a rocking action and whatnot.

also tire size and weight play a big role. the less unsprung weight there is the easier the suspension can control it= the better ride

5" of lift, long arms, plus 33's, with 1.5" wheel spacers. drove just fine on the road....no sway bars for me, but i run stiff shocks. as long as you set it all up correct it will drive just fine. however, short arms will suck above 4".

I drove mine down the road, 8in lift with 37in boggers and no sway bars and doorless, and it was horrible. The guy with me was petrified. Luckily we didnt have to go but 1/4 mile

I think if i had some more streetable tires, say km2s or something up that alley and front sway bar it would do a lot better. but ill never know
