Had mech replace valve cover gasket, muffler and tail pipe. Now Jeep wont slide into drive gear. I had engine revved to 35 mph and it was too high at 4,000 rpm. Could the mech have messed something up with the tranny by replacing muffler & tail pipe or after he replaced the valve cover gasket allowed water to seep into the distributor cap after he steam cleaned the engine? Could this be why trasnsmisssion is not sliding into gear? Please help. My yahoo email & messenger is scottmc73

wtf are you even saying here? i have no idea. its easier to help you if you format questions like a human. read what you wrote aloud and tell me if it makes any sense whatsoever.
regardless, it sounds like a TPS issue.
