Possible coil problem i need help man

Default Possible coil problem i need help man

i have a 2000 xj its been miss firing i cleaned all injectors 2 were not working before now all six are. but i took the coil pack off yesterday and took my plugs out and the last set closest to the firewall the last plug is covered in oil and the second plug on the same coil is covered in gas and does not fire. what could that be... a sign of bad coil?? thank you so much for responses

possibly, are you getting a check engine light? should be getting a misfire code... and try switching it with another coil and see if the problem moves with it.

yeah the check engine does come up and it does misfire

put a code scanner on it to see what cylinder is misfiring. Move the coil from that cylinder to another pair, and check the codes again. See if the ones you moved it too start misfiring, if so, it's the coil.

The plug covered in fuel may be due to a sticking injector. The one covered in oil may be due to a leaking valve seal.

I believe some auto parts stores can test coils. Maybe take the coil to be tested.

You can save urself a trip and get. a multi meter and check to see if the coil has an ohms value. Not sure what value a stock coil pack should have. Yull have to find that out. If it reads 0.L (open line) then its bad. Also if it reads 0.0 its bad. Depends on the meter. Makesure its not plugged in to power when u test it. Just an fyi. Good luck.

Actually the code should tell you what cly is missing... then that would be the coil that needs to be replaced.
