Default [Pics] Refurbishing My Stock Wheels

So this weekend I underwent the project of one by one slowly re surfacing/ painting each of my stock wheels after the plasti dip (never again) was peeling and generally looking like a mess.

The first step was to scrap off all of the old plasti dip, which luckily wasnt all that hard with a heat gun.

Then I hit the rims with a steel brush attachment on my angle grinder.

Next was some detailing with a dremmel followed by a round of sanding by hand.

After a washing I gave each rim 2 coats of primer, and 2-3 coats of paint, finishing with some high gloss protective enamel.

All in all probably took about 4 hours, spread out over two days. I also took this time to repaint my fenders to make it look even more clean and sand / cover a little bit of rust on the rockers.

pictures below - let me know what you think!

A easier wheel masking is index cards,Stick them in between the rim and tire and use as many as you want they are cheap.

^ looking back I should have done that. Even though the tape worked out it was a major PITA. I actually followed a Youtube video on how to do this by ChrisFix and he also used the index card method
