As was mentioned earlier, if you're using Microsoft you should be able to right-click on the file and open with Office Picture Manager.
Once open, go to Edit Picture and re-size. One of the re-size options is actually for web pages and will re-size it appropriately.
If you go that route, do a "save as" when closing and save it as a new file or you will permenantly change your original pic.
You can then upload it into your CF album and post it from there.
I am new, have less than 10 posts and can post pictures on CF so that's not the issue.

You want to post from your album or photobucket? From photobucket just hover your mouse over the desired pic until a window pops up. Scroll down to the IMG code tab and left click it.....it should say "copied". Now just post your comment and right click when you need the pic and "paste" it there.
