What is peoples opinions on the diff between power plants

Personally i have the 4.0ltr straight six but at £1.32 a litre at the pump (£6.60 a gallon or $13.20 a gallon US) i can see the benefits of the old agricultural a mile off

Ive heard deisel is only a better while hauling heavy loads. Since the fuel milage is generally the same compared to burning tons of gasoline while hauling. Dont quote me on that though. non turbo deisels are very weak. That is one downside

I like diesels better. My Blazer has a diesel in it. Gets better fuel mileage than my XJ. But here, diesel fuel costs so much more than gas, I can drive my Jeep a lot cheaper than I can drive my diesel.

i would drive an diesel XJ if the taks is not so F.ing high in the Netherlands for diesels

for my XJi pay now 289 euro roadtax just for driving on the road...this is each 3 months. after 3 months again 289 euro for another 3 months roadtax.
then MOT....every f.ing year again.
how they made up the bill for cars here.
roadtax made up by weight of the car, type of fuel of the car, and CO2 output.....
for an diesel XJ i would pay the double what ive pay now for my XJ
that would be 550 euro every 3 months to pay

dont know how its set up in the USA, but thinking its much better there.

@taurusnhood:
you think it's that expensive? never got out of the UK itself? in holland you pay now 1.84 euro for just 1 liter of fuel (euro 95)
1.55 to 1.60 euro for 1 liter of diesel.

personal i dont like UK also, since theyve robbed me at the A (M)1 nearby Upton. stole my diesel, smashed my windows stabbed 3 wheels, 1 of the truck 2 of the trailer and 600 liter of diesel out of my lorry's tank.
at one eye i can only see 70% now cause they smashed an stone brick into the cabin by the drivers side (left) and hit me with also glass my head.

ive had to stay 3 days in the hospital cause they observed my eye after they pulled one piece of glassplitter out.

maybe UK is for most of the people a great country, ive lost 30% of my sight there just for f.ing diesel fuel.
