part time 4x4 vs full time 4x4

I've searched for info on part time 4x4 vs full time 4x4 but not having much luck...I've heard a lot of pros and cons but not from someone who isn't trying to sell me something..sure could use some help...Thanks..

Part time is for optimum traction and not for dry pavement
full time is for 4wd on pavement.
Full time is good for people that drive in areas where it snows because you can drive on pavement that is not slippery. part time is not ment for that.
xj does not have the 249 that was on the zj
