Then again I like yellow.....ahhhhh i don't know what to do

 

Krylon makes a SATIN clear coat spray. Is what I used on my tie rod after I finished painting it. Definitely do a clear, but the SATIN is better than the gloss IMO.

 

I did mines in the satin italian olive krylon makes. It looks awesome. Im partial to a tan color though. Im actually thinking of repainting mines tan.

I know I'm coming in late here, but mine was originally dark maroon.

I like to keep some "factory flare" so I used the original maroon in the form of a pair of racing stripes. Its subtle enough to where, unless you were paying attention, you wouldn't really notice.

I was able to do my whole truck for something like $50 with Wal-Mart dupli-color paint. I didn't clear coat anything because I know I'll scratch and dent the whole truck, and fixes will take literally a minute and cost me pennies.

Just sharing some reflections from a guy who did a garage paint job. It was easy, and no regrets a full year plus later.

 

Yeah I'll be walmarting it with prolly krylon...just need to decide what color or colors

Here's my 93 I spray bedlined, and then finish coated with Krylon Satin Moss Green and Rustoleum satin black...




And here's my 89... I bedlined it also. I wanted to do desert sand but could only find it in flat and that would be a nightmare to keep clean so I settled for Krylon almond satin and Moss Green. Turned out nice IMO

Yep... Bought that one for $400 bucks out of a junkyard and rebuilt her this spring

 

Did u do the paint?

 

Yep , Spray bedlined it and then sanded that to remove the heavy texture but leaving a slightly hammered feel to it and then topcoated with Krylon satin almond and Satin Moss green from Walmart. I should probably add that I own a painting business and have a lot of experience with this kind of stuff...

 

Think I could pull off the almond color with black instead of moss? Will the almond show swipes of the paint bad? Im pretty decent at painting with a spray can.....

 

I don't see a problem....

Swipes are easy to avoid, just be sure to do one panel at a time and overlay properly. Work fast and keep it wet and you'll be good to go! it's no worse than others for showing and better than many colors I've done...

Remember prep is the key!!! When you think you've prepped it enough, do it all again
