My Xj is a 96 2dr in flame red and it has the trim (quarter panel I think it's called, or rocker guard...??) and it's painted black because that's how the sports were. But it's kinda worn and tired looking now and wondering if anyone has painted it on their Xj. I assume someone has lol
And what do you guys think of my xj?

They didn't offer a diesel in 96, only 85-87 and they were **** motors. BP has green pumps around here whether they're diesel or not.
OP looks clean, but I hate the 96 trim with that red stripe for it. I'd pull it all and bedline the lowers with a quality bedliner. Looks cleaner and better overall imo.
edit: If you want to keep it get a heat gun and use it on them. It'll pull the black back out, just make sure not to hold it in one spot too long or it will discolor it and it can damage the clear coat. Sweep back and forth as if you were spray painting it.

And half my xj's weight is bedliner, stainless steel sheet metal, and rivets...
