Default Painting axles

Ok guys I need to clean up the bottom of my jeep and I was wondering how yall painted your rusty axles? I was planning on spraying the rust with ospho and then painting it with rustoleum hamerite paint. What do yall think.

Prep as best as possible prior to painting, Hamerite will work well.

Wire brush wheel. Have fun... Here's a neat painting trip; notice the 1/4" aluminum cross bar I have wedged into place.

That picture doesn't do the pain any justice. And I didn't even realize it until I squatted down.... I hate those wheels.
