Default over heating problem

Ok I just bought a 96 Cherokee classic and I have a new fan clutch, water pump and belt. I hooked up the electrc fan so it just turns on when I start the jeep. I'm still having over heating issues. Could I have hooked the electric fan up backwards? When sitting in the drivers seat it spins counter clockwise. Is this right I'm stumped. Help please

At what point does the overheating occur? Is it gradual? Or do you go straight from being OK to over heating? That sounds like a t-stat may be stuck.

Yeah it is a gradual thing. I'm going to end up getting a new radiator for it and I'm going to do the whole air pocket test today. I will keep ya posted

Is the '96 still a closed system? Could just need to be burped and add more coolant.
