I found a killer deal on some bran new 30x9.50x15 BFG A/T tires.
my main question is how well will they drive in snow. we get alot of snow here and this is my winter vehicle. i assume with a 9.50 wide its a tall and narrow tire which should be good in snow. is the tread pattern fairly decent for snow? tirerack.com rates them real well in snow. but I wanted real opinions from real life jeep guys.
the tires have been sitting around in a garage and i can get them for $300 for the set of 4. that is exactly half price, i figure if they work at all in snow i will buy them. this deal is almost too good to pass up. let me know what you guy think.

nice! thats what i want to hear. it will 90% of the time be driven ON ROAD. the most it would ever see is in some grass or dry dirt to move stuff around on my property. i never intentionally take it on a muddy trail. the thing doesnt even have a lift on it.

I have a set on my ZJ, I'm not sure how many miles are on them because they were on when I bought my ZJ, but they seem to wear like iron. I don't like BFG, but these tires have done very well in snow for me. I plan on replacing them soon with some Yokohama Geolander A-T-S rubber.

I ran them on my 98 Wrangler, 31x10.50 on stock rims. They worked very good in the type of terrain I was using them in, Southen Nevada Desert area. It was a 60/40 usage off road/highway.
I also ran the same tire and size with stock rims on my 1998 Dodge Dakota 4X4 It was a 70/30 usage Highway/off road in the same type of terrain. My wife drove it back & forth to work.
On the Dakota I was getting over 50,000 miles on them and over 40,000 miles on the Wrangler.
When I get my 88 Cherokee lifted it will be my tire of choice for the border area of Arizona, simular type of terrain

I have a set of 31" ko's and love them, very good in the nh snow, they are very good aired down. have really tackled any deep mud with them yet tho. most trails i ride are loose dirt, rocks, and wooded areas. they are really good on the road too, tire noise isnt too bad either but i really dont care about that. i rotate mine every 4k, they seem like they need to get balanced more tho.

I am using the Yokohama Geolander on my 2000 Ranger 4x4 work truck, It came with them. They appear to be good tires, they work well in this type of terrain. I find no noticeable difference is preformance between them and the BFG.s.
IIRC BFG dosen't warrent their tires againt cracking from heat or sun but the Yokohama does
Cosmetic weather checking is included in the warrenty statement from BFG and isn't include in the warrenty statment from Yohohama.
BFG http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/asset...fgwarranty.pdf

Which is an issue in the southern Nevada/Southern Arizona area.
I am lacking an experience in snow driving for the last 35 years.
