Your correct, there is no track bar on the rear of an XJ. As far as the front you can get by with drilling a new hole for your stock TB. Search the subject, you'll find all kinds of info on this.

For 3.5" an adjustable track bar is not need. There isn't one for the back, just one for the front. For A '00, a 1" TC drop is most likely needed.

Common mistake. Age =\= Knowledge.

XJs dont have rear track bars. and for the front you dont need a new trackbar for just 3.5 inches.

Try to run your XJ without the t-case drop, if you get vibes throw it on but always try to keep that ground clearance if possible.

Most kits come with everything that is needed for the "typical" vehicle at that height. This should include track bar drop bracket, adj trackbar, or whatever if the manufacturer thinks it is necessary at that height. My 2 cents: don't spend the money up front - most people report no issues at this height, myself included! Call the manufacturer if you're not convinced. No one should know the product and install better than them!

With a 3.5 inch lift on a 2000 you will most likely need a tcase drop, but you will probably have to go with an SYE to do the job right. The last couple of years of the XJ came with high pinion axles, makes it harder to lift them with out running into problems. But every vehichle is diffent, you might be fine.

Fixed. And a TCL will do just fine no need for the SYE unless you going bigger than 31" tires

This is what I went with on my 98 (3" lift) when I got vibes, it gives you a 1" drop without the loss of clearance. I could'nt be happier with it.

In defense of your Step Dad, a '00 wrangler would have a trac bar, he may have just assumed that an XJ would to because its a Jeep. Now if he was being rude about it, then laugh at him...

Good luck!

I modified my stock crossmember to have an internal 1.5" drop without losing any crossmember ground clearence.
