Default Oil pump?

Hey guys just wondering what some oppinions are on oil pumps I'm going to change mine while I have to motor off, and wondering if there were any brands to buy that some prefer, and what the advantages are to getting a high flow or just an oem pump
Thanks

I think MOPAR Performance has a high volume oil pump available for the 4.0. Check with www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com and see what they have to offer. For just a few bucks more it couldn't hurt to install a high volume pump.

agreed, i have the high volume one in mine. Your really concerned more with volume then pressure but jump in pressure is not a bad thing.

Oil pumps do not create pressure, they create flow. It's the restrictions in the oiling system that makes pressure. Low oil pressure is caused by excessive bearing clearences.

You have to realize though that are different pumps though and some are geared towards more pressure and some are geared towards more flow. For example people will port an oil pump and lose some psi but gain more flow.
