We can't get the cap off!!!!!!! Need to add oil and the blasted thing wont turn. Thinking the last servicer didn't thread it on right when they tightened it down.

Any suggestions on getting it off without breakage as it's parked in front of the garage and can't get the other car out to go and buy a new one.

Oh and why we can't just drive it to the shops, came home from work with smoke from the engine bay.... thinking leaky hose, just can't see yet cause it's too hot under the hood.

 

Use a pair of channel locks . Put a rag on the cap 1st.

 

If its one of the new style ones that ratchet, the one way teeth are trashed. I have to pop off the top part of it, then unscrew the part that goes into the VC with channel locks, then replace it with a spare I had laying around.
