Default Nuts & Bolts/Threadlocker

What is a good place to get miscellaneous fasteners for replacing broken/rusted out nuts and bolts for the Cherokee? Mainly higher grade ....10.9 and 8

I recently ripped out the stock track bar (to replace with the IRO adj. track bar kit) in the Cherokee and the bolt on the bottom of the bracket aren't looking so good. I called the dealer and they discontinued most of the general hardware. So, I picked up a few 10.9 grade bolts at Ace Hardware that match but I'm hoping they're gonna work okay.

Also, is it a good idea to use a threadlocker for this application? I've always been afraid to use this stuff cause I've been worried the bolts will never come out after installation.

your local hardware store will have the stuff you need. and definately use loctite on trackbar and trackbar bracket bolts. my bracket is bolted AND welded but the bottom two bolts still came loose last wheeling trip. i put em back in with loctite this time.

fasteners. fastenals. tacoma screw. go to gotbolts.com for fasteners website. The iro track bar will come with new bolts for the frame mount. Use locktite whereever you don't want a bolt to back out, especially on suspsension parts

SAE5 ~= ISO 8.8/10.9
SAE8 ~= ISO 12.9

Just so you don't get Chinese crap, you'll be fine. You can look for a local Fastenal, you can order from McMaster-Carr, MSC Direct, or other MRO houses.

Another good source? Quality Farm & Fleet, or someplace similar (agricultural equipment & Diesel suppliers.) I've had good luck with their stuff over the years (Ag/Diesel suppliers in general.)

Brass & Bronze tends to run about an SAE3-4 equivalent, and CRES about SAE6.

Any Chinese fastener may be safely considered "counterfeit" - I've had Chinese SAE8 be weaker than honest SAE2!

That's really the biggest thing I can give you - do not buy Chinese crap. It's barely fit for the scrap bin...
