I am tinting my markers and 3 brake light, but was just wondering for anyone whose done it before, do you have better results with just spraying and buffing them to get glossy, or add a couple coats of clear?
I don't need them super glossy, but I tried on my last XJ with clear coat and either I suck at painting or the clear F-ed it up and got a bunch of orange peel and looked horrible..
And if I don't clear should I lightly wet sand them (not sure if the wetsanding is necessary without the clear coat) and just use a polishing or rubbing compound to get them looking good? If so which one?
Thanks!

Use the night shade tail light tint it comes out good just prep the lights good like clean them acetone before spraying and good about 10 to 12 inches away. It sprays a lot different than spray paint

I just rinsed them, and then wetsanded them lightly with 1500G paper.
Dried with a microfiber towel and it worked out pretty well.
They came out with a decent gloss already, but not perfect so I tried wetsanding the 3rd brake light with 2000G paper and then used some polishing compound and it came out even worse...
I just left the others before I screwed them up some more..
