i looked through this and realy did ask myself....

first: want solid axles(i bet the wrongler and all other jeeps are ifs by then) probly todays big engine utility trucks could be a good go to for this like ford superdutys and ram trucks (def not gm) for somting more nimble aparently the suzuki samuria has been cntinued in other continents as the jimny and aparently also has front and rear coils and links...

the fj idea is very plausable as it already has huge aftermarket support that probably will continue to rise like the wrangler aftermarkt did years ago...

anothr odd ball to toss out there is the somewhat new volkswagan Amarok's, the new tdi turbos, 2l I4 that have 161hp 310ft torque i think i read somewhere, look it up thers no offroad package and it has front ifs but just reading the specs makes you dream,,, i cant remember everything so you can look it up.

is ifs realy that bad, we ***** about the comfort jeep models, but what else is there and has anyone got a good system... the subaru loyal has a small following and is a mild offroader (has nothing on a soild though and flexs for ****) but mabey other cars out there will suffice, my uncle has one of the earlyer nissan xterra's and i actualy enjoy it, fits 31s without any modification, and toyota has been doing it for years and still makes succsesful 4x4s...

i doubt big manufacturers will tune into capable offroad recreatinal vehicls from the factory.... however there is a huge aftermarket and selection of utility and recreatinal UTVs out there ,largly popular the razor and the rhino have great aftermarket support and i only imagine these types of vehicles only getting more capable in the future.... i think this is what will consume our hobby and we will all drive fullsize priuse's or ricers for DDs lol

another ponder, 20 years ago 33s where considered big tires, what will be the big tire norm in another 20?

in 20 years if the environmentalists have their way, we won't be allowed off of paved roads anyways. on the other hand, in 20 years, when i'm 50 something, hopefully i'll be able to build my own 4x4 from the ground up and not have it be based off of any factory produced truck/suv on the road today. totally one off. thats my goal anyways. i like my cherokee, but I don't want to have it forever.
