Well in liberal Cali, we can carry a firearm as long as it is unloaded and visible. Also if a cop pulls you over you must say you are in possession of a gun if they ask and they will take it, check it, and when it checks out its just given back.
But that's in Cali, check your local and state laws, as well as fed and I'd print it out and keep the laws with you invade they abuse their power.

In Oklahoma, you only have to be 16. But I believe it has to be unloaded and the ammo and gun out of reach of each other. You can transport a handgun at 18, and possible at 16 or 17 with signed parental consent, that's a big gray area though.
