YKYDAXJW the insurance adjuster from your accident 8 months ago finally calls you when your eating in a restaurant with your friends and she asks how many miles you have on the vehicle and you tell her "exactly 167179.6" and she laughs and says no really

I'd rather not hear from my adjuster. Not sure if they'd be happy that I did the repairs myself, not to save money but for the experience

You got paid to fix your own XJ! Awesome. Don't tell my wife, she'll start expecting that from me too. Lol.

Well they did want me to go to a repair shop but instead I used the funds and did the same repairs. Didn't really save any of the money it all went to repairs so they shouldn't be mad at that at least lll

You probably got better parts since you didn't have to pay for labor.

I don't see a whole lot of lifted, or off-road oriented cherokees, but when I do, I just about jump out of my seat lol. I get a little too excited when I see other XJs

Maybe it's because I don't know anyone else with a cherokee...

I got the check ($1200) in the mail a few days ago, the only problem is that it's made out to me and the repair place I go the quote from. I don't want to spend it there because I can fix it myself or leave it because it's not even that bad. I'm trying to get my dad to get them to sign it over to us for like 150 bucks but of course he has more important things to do. It's easy money for them so I'm sure he'll want more but idk what to do...

Quote of the Century!

I got home after 2 weeks away working, and I couldn't quit thinking about installing the new bored TB that came in the mail (wife showed it to me on Skype),
and changing all her fluids for winter, and driving her!
XJ has me whipped BAD.

Haha when i had my accident I was given a check for $3100 for parts and labor. I did all the work myself, including straightening the unibody. $1500 went to pay bills from when i was in the hospital and out of work, the rest went into aftermarket parts. I already had 70% of my front end conversion in the garage, so that was a piece of cake. My Bumper was shot, so i got a winch bumper.... my radiator was shot... so i got a 3 core csf radiator.... my waterpump was cracked, so i got a hesco unit.... my clutch fan was trashed and stuck in the old radiator.... did an electric fan swap. Just to name a few. I did all those upgrades and still spent less than the appraisal listed for parts.... they really need to learn to shop around haha.
