New Cherokee Owner!
I bought a 96 XJ from a friend of mine that was moving out of town. It is in really good shape but has alot of miles on it(220000). No dents,Interior is clean(Needs Headliner). Runs really good for the amount of miles on it. I am wanting to add a small lift,31/10.50/15 tires,I already have a set of pro comp black rims. Should I be concerned with the engine with this many miles on it or just drive it? Do I need to do a gear change or will it pull the 31's ok? Also what issues do I need to look for!
I ordered the rough country 3" lift and shocks with control arms and a steering stabilizer! Is this a pretty good lift?
What tires do ya'll recommend for decent price?
I found a set of Wrangler 31/10.50/15 at Wal-Mart for $135.00ea. Not going to be off road that much and will not be doing any rock climbing!

You are in the same scenario as I am. Purchased my 94 2 weeks ago with 160k miles. All stock. Ordering my 3" RC lift and plan on purchasing a set of goodyear wranglers from walmart... $650 for a set of 4 with mounting and balancing. Little things here and there.

Welcome to the forum guys (or girls). Rough Country is a good affordable lift. They're here as a vendor (Grimus99) and even offer a discount. Now as for miles, as long as the motor was taken care of, as far as oil service and tune ups, you'll be fine. The 4.0 is a good reliable motor that even when it breaks, parts are cheap and its easily fixable by the average do it yourselfer. Any questions, dont hesitate to ask.
