What gear ratio does my 1997 Cherokee tow package, 4.0 litre have ? My front diff is a Dana 30 and I'm not sure the gear ratio

There is a little metal tag that is bolted on with the diff cover. If you wipe it clean and read it, it will tell you what ratio you have.

This is the tag from my front diff. Its a 3.55.

That is the stock gear that came in all 4.0's with the AW4 auto trans a towing package would have a 3.73 I think in that year, could be wrong but 3.55's are stock.

to be 100% sure, you will have to remove the diff cover, and get the tooth count off the edge of the large ring gear, then just divide those numbers to get the ratio.
good reason to at least do a diff service with some fresh fluid.
