Default need ideas to convince the rents to let me do the engine swap!

so i was supposed to go pick up a 99 engine today to swap into my 01 with a cracked head. but my parents decided to go crazy this morning saying its to much work for me, i wont be able to get it done blah blah blah. they are really trying to push me to sell it or trade it in but a Cherokee with a cracked head will be greatly reduced in value correct? They keep telling me to cut my losses and start over but that seems like a lot of work to. i need some help here as I'm out of ideas to argue my case other than i can do it and its good experience. Help!

Why are you replacing the entire engine? THe head is cracked not the block... Swap the head out. It make take one good afternoon.

Did you buy the Jeep? Tell em to STFU it's your Jeep.

But how long did he run the engine with the cracked head? How much damage to the lower end happened?

I want to swap because the engines had the cracked head for a while while I replaced everything else trying to figure out the problem. I bought the jeep and pay for it but it's registered to my parents because I wasn't 18 when I got it and it was a **** ton cheaper that way

Just show them this and prove you're not going to be an English major in college, you need to learn a trade and an engine swap would be a good place to start.
