Default Need Help Deciding

So... I'm new here, but certainly not new to the internet. I've searched for an answer, but could not find a good one. I'm looking at 2 WJs. Both 4.0s with the Selec Trac transfer case. One is a 2002 with 147k miles and cloth interior, and the other is a 2003 with 177k miles and tan leather. They are otherwise equal.

The asking on the 2003 with 177k is $4k, and on the 2002 with 144 is $3300. Are there any reasons to go with the 2003 over the 2002? Are there any common problems in one model year that aren't in the other?

Thanks!

btw, this will be my first Jeep and I'm pretty excited.

I don't think there are any major differences between the years. I'd go with the cheaper lower mileage one lol

not every one is gonna have a problem, but i know of a half a dozen personally over the years. and they were all the 4.7

i've rarely heard of 4.0L having any problems.
the 4.0L is a much more reliable motor.

The inline 6 has 195hp and 230 foot pounds the 4.7 has 235hp and 290 foot pounds the high output 4.7 has 265hp and 330 foot pounds. And the wj weights 3,669lbs i rather have the extra power.I have seen the 4.7 blow a head gasket and break the timing chain,But most cases it was from a lack of maintenance and drove hard.As far as the 4.0 being stronger it is but lets not forget the cracking head problem in 00-01 in the xj.That same head was used in 99-00 on the wj and they cracked too.
