Exclamation need help! coil spacers and a block or jus spend the money to get a lift?

A buddy of mine told me today that if i wanted a 3" inch lift all i would have to do is go boy 3" blocks from autozone and ubolt them on the back and buy 3" coil spacers to put on my stock springs in the front ! is this true or is he just acting like he knows what he is talkin about. Also if this is true is that all i will need or will i need a few more extras.... Im doin this more for looks then anything but with that would i be able to go trailridin and muddin and have no worries about anything! also what is the biggest size tire i could run with that without having to cut my fender flares....its a 95 xj 4 door sport 4x4. Thanks guys

i've heard nothing but bad things about blocks. you're better off getting an add a leaf and coil spacer kit from some where, especially if you plan on wheeling it. i got a 2 inch rough country kit with spacers and add a leafs from ebay for like 80 bucks. that little bit of lift let me fit 31's which is more than enough for now. now for the tires i'm not sure. like i said i managed to fit 31's on two inches but they rubbed a little bit. if you get a full on 3 inch kit you could easily fit 31's without trimming i'd imagine

Moved to chat since this isn't a build.

Do some searching, learn what others have done. Around here this is a common topic and many people have discussed it many times.

There is really no spacer lift that yeilds 3" up front, 2" at most until things settle. Your best bet is to use google, search a bit, and educate yourself on whet your getting into. For looks only or something else.
