I named mine "Christine" right after I started having issues with it in the fall. Now everything is fixed and she's running great!

It's funny and I'm glad I found this thread because it's a fitting place to get help in ending an argument. My avatar name is actually that of my XJ and I'm faced with a dilemma. I always referred to my XJ in male terms (i.e., him or he) but my wife insists that "Cherryokee" is a feminine name (offensive term deleted). She also insists that a car is like a boat in terms of the "gender" by which one refers to said vehicles. Now I won't readily admit that she's right - because it's just wrong for me to fold that easily. So ladies and gentlemen, I ask your help in resolving this argument and that you do so in an adult fashion (remembering this forum's guidelines). Is a Cherokee male or female and should the names we choose dictate their "genders"?

It's what you think it is. Arguing with someone who thinks anything is "gay" as an insult is absolutely stupid.

I was afraid of this. My point was missed. I suppose I could've done a better job at the wording or I should've left that part off and I apologize for my error in judgement. The argument is more a matter of whether my XJ is a him or a her simply based on a name.

Well I guess I mean that you should call it what you will. I was just thinking that it's usually hard to change anyone's thought process if that was the reasoning at the beginning.

QED, its what you want it to be, guy or girl, doesn't matter.

I wanted to name mine something related to the color, but I kept coming up with very inappropriate names! I ended up naming her Ruby SoHo.
