I just got my first job (delivery/dishwashing etc at a local pizza joint) and since gas is now my responsibility, I've been thinking about getting rid of the xj and getting something small and better on gas. Since it snowed last night/today, my jeep got me more hours because no one else can get out.

Find a different job. You are gonna kill your wallet paying for gas as a delivery driver.

Don't get a different car for gas, I almost made that mistake a few years back but thank myself every day now that I didn't.

Think of gas money as "badass tax" for having an XJ

 

I make maybe 8-10 deliveries a night in a small town, and I get to keep all my tips, so it's not the delivering that's costing me $$, it's school, church, and everywhere else.

 

I recently decided I could use a more fuel efficient car rather than the XJ, so when a cheap Honda Accord came up at work I jumped on it. It's more or less my 'out of town' car as the XJ isn't the greatest for long trips lol.
