Time for a rebuild. If you decide to do it yourself, some FYI the main and rod bearings are not a standard size. They are all different and color coded I believe. Basically what I'm saying is you can't rebuild them like any other engine just throwing standard bearings at it to freshen it up, they are all different sizes, you would need to inspect the bearings, find out what size or color code they are then go to the dealer to purchase. If you have everything machined you can do it the conventional way but its more $$. If the journals aren't scored I'd just find out what's in there and freshen it up

Did it have any oil pressure at all? Mine got to down to 0 at idle and I parked it, I did the rear main and put in a melling high volume oil pump. It helped some. My jeep at normal operating temp reads about 8-10 psi which is low as the normal minimum pressure reading is like 13psi I think. Mine doesn't knock but I'm going to take care of it here in the next month or so.

Mine did the same thing, a hi volume oil pump will help slightly and may band aid it to get you by for a short time. Thats what i did. It went from zero back to about 8psi at hot idle

It will only be a short term fix. I bought my melling high volume oil pump from advance auto parts, it was $85 i think. Set upp an online account with them and use one of their current coupon codes in the "check out" section. They have a current code for $35 of of any purchase of $85 or more. Once you have the item in your online shopping cart click "pick up at store" icon and choose the nearest store to you and it will be waiting for you when you get there. Of they do not have it in stock you can have it shipped to your home or call the 800 # and order it directly. The site is painfully slow but its worth the savings
