If you like sucking on exhaust fumes while sitting at stop lights and want to get lots unwanted attention from officer Friendly, go for it. Or better yet, just leave it alone.

you should just unbolt it at the block so the fumes dont go under the car they just go out the hood

My exhaust fell off at the cat and I HATED IT. Loss of power, sounded bad after the first hour driving, everything vibrated, got annoyed looks, exhaust rattled every time I hit a pebble, and my mileage went to crap.

Flowmaster super 44 (or 40 I can't remember) mufflers are pretty loud and popular among xj owners. Or you could just bolt it back on haha

Take the muffler off but leave the cat on. I did that with my xj for a while it sounded great and had more power. Just straight pipe it back to the tailpipe.
