To much snow even for an XJ?
Perhaps some of you guys or gals who live in a more snow prone area have some input. Right now my Cherokee is just a large white mound out in front of my house. There`s already 22" (Flat not drifts) on the ground and it`s still coming down! I just have a stock 1994 Cherokee. How much snow is to much to think I can get in and head somewhere even in 4x4 in my Jeep?

X 2, on the tires. Not so much in height but, something you can air down and float on top of the snow with.

I had little trouble driving through 24" in my ZJ on 30" tires before I did my lift. I did get stuck a couple times but nothing bad I couldn't get out of with patience.

I have an XJ on 31s and 3". Thing will roll through 17" of snow without spinning tires or anything. I'm pretty sure I could take it through 30" of snow without too much trouble. Having good tires makes a HUGE difference. ppl say mud tires suck in the snow...I beg to differ, they clean out, don't clog and just chew through darn near anything

We got 13 inches last year and my stock XJ drove right through it without even spinning the tires on my then nearly new Yokohama Geolander A/Ts, but 20+ inches would be a little more fun! If you have good tires, I'd say go for it.

Not sure what too much is, but if you are careful a stock XJ with good tires can go through 20" of loose (unpacked) snow without too much trouble - I just did it yesterday in Northern Virginia. It's all in the driving, and knowing that you have a back-up plan: 40 feet of tow strap and a come-along, warm clothes, shovel, etc.
Be careful, and remember: stopping is tougher (or at least a lot more dangerous) than starting!

In the XJ I'ld take it out though 3' of powder with out much worry, but only cause I have the super swampers on it! My WJ has 2" lift & MTRs & its taken me in some deep snow, but I found its limit last year getting stuck! When the door carves about 2"s of snow of the top layer! Lol
Like its been said driving skill, tires, & a back up plan!!!
