Default Motor swap question

You guys are my last hope for an honest answer regarding an engine swap. I own a 87 cherokee in perfect shape except the engine has 300,000 miles on it. I also own a 96 jeep cherokee that has a much better motor with 150,000 miles. My question, Can I put the 96 engine into my 87 body or should I just put a re-man motor in the 87? I appreciate your time.

i'll bump this to the top for you.

the easiest would be to go with the reman. i think that the newer engine would work but there would be a lot more to it. someone with more experience than me should answer this question.

i guess it all depends on the condition of the motor your guna put in it. you got to listen to how it runs, does it leak what has to be switched over from the original motor.... it prbly wouldnt be a bad idea to get the motor that ur putting in to get rebuilt or at least looked at to make sure it wont crap out 10 miles after you put it in.
