Wrong section but anyways. I just swapped a 96 engine in my 98 and had kind of the same issue. It turned out to be the #1 o2 sensor. It never threw a cel either. I would suggest unplugging it to see if that fixes your problem. If so replace the sensor. I still dont know why it decided to go bad when i swapped the engine out..
Unplug it and see if it helps. I figured mine had to be the o2 cause it only acted up when it got warmed up. And it reads off the o2 sensor when its hot.

ok i will have to do that and is it a change that i will notice right away¿the other prob i am having is wihen i did the motor swap i needed the tranny and t case and the wires for the tranny ant the same do i need them?
Yeah if it fixes it you will notice right away. I dont really know about the tranny cause in 96 they switched to obdII. Were your plugs for the sensors on the engine the same. Cause when I put the 96 engine in my 98 I had to switch all the sensors from the 98 engine to the 96 cause they all were all different..
