You mean you dont enjoy when people put HIDs in stock reflector housings? But the light is so bright and blue! (too bad none of it hits the ground)

Very sweet - let us know how they fit in the stock XJ headlight buckets and if you have time - more cutoff pictures are always welcome!

A combination worth trying is the IPF conversion kit and using led bulbs. I just did my 96 XJ. Used auxbeam f16 h4 bulbs. Am very happy with the results.

I'm no expert, but the cutoff doesn't look to be real good. What lights are these?

edit: just saw the post above, so at least I know someone else doesn't like the cutoff.haha

The lights are a combination of the IPF conversion kit and auxbeam f16 led bulbs. Someone else had cutoff issues with the f16 bulbs so he switched to their s series bulbs. Going to order a set to see if there is a difference. I've had not issues so far with the lights and no one has flashed me.

Well, the problem is you took a reflector specifically and only designed for halogen bulbs and put LED bulbs in instead. The light emissions is completely different, hence the "spot" style beam that doesn't really protect oncoming drivers from the extreme glare of the LED emitters.

It's not that it isn't "bright or anything", and I'm not trying to bust your ***** - but there is a reason that they are against the law.
Next time you drive past one of those ricers or brotrucks with the 6000K or 8000K HID's that are glaring all over the road, take notice of how the beam pattern "glares" in a giant circle basically.

I would return the LED's and put some halogens back in there.
Thank you for sharing though!! (unfortunately it is an example of what not to do when attempting to improve on the factory headlights)

I knew it was a risk putting led's in the IPF lens. I wasn't going after brightness just a whiter light. I used to run eurolight and IPF fatboy bulbs in them.

Figure I would throw some samples of the JW Speaker "knock-off" lights commonly found on Aliexpress and Ebay for well below $200 a set, roughly $160 right now.

These pictures are provided by CherokeeForum member "Never Late" - hopefully he doesn't mind me posting these up (cut-off pics are hard to find, plus there are now a variety of LED options in the 5x7 form factor), Out of curiosity, I asked him for some samples before he sold his.

On first glance, they look to be pretty well built, and cut-off is fairly sharp as well - well within reason. Light output is hard to get a true gauge on, but leaps and bounds better than stock for sure. For the price (compared to $600 for JW Speaker branded lights), they are definitely a good option.

$75 ea. I think these don't require removing material, but I don't know.
