so I am considering letting someone run a kit on their rig to provide feedback on its performance to me for a little bit before I decide that I'm satisfied with it and offer it up for sale.
I do need to know if most of you reading this are using frame stiffeners made of 1/8 or 3/16 steel and are your stiffeners welded to only one side of the frame rail or both?

I don't think the HDO's extend passed the stock LCA brackets, so if they're running 3/16" they've probably already got long arms. I'd make the kit compatible with 10 ga, but relatively easy to install with a 3/16 kit as well. but it's hard to say without a blueprint in mind

I figured id do a little work on the mid arm brackets today. Well i worked on the templates. The templates are just being used for measurements, they will be drawn up in a computer and cnc cut and bent so any mistakes I made on the template will be corrected on the final product.
The bracket show in the picture is the upper link bracket.
There are going to be 2 3/4 bolts and one 9/16 bolt holding each bracket.
The 9/16 is in front and will go thru your unibody rail and thru the johnny joint at the same time using the same bolt. Simple equals cheaper and stronger, less to go wrong.

Mods if this is getting to be too techish (if thats a word
) please move it out of chit chat.

I'm liking this so far sir. Bracket looks like it'll work out well and be strong when you "sandwich" the frame rail in it.
I'd def be interested in a set that has poly bushings and a johnny joint. heck even 2 bushings for ride quality and price. I ran poly bushings top and bottom on my LAs and flex wasn't hindered at all compared to other store bought kits.

I'm going to offer different options as far as bushing/JJ combinations for the control arms. Imo the poly bushings don't really hinder your flex really bad.
I am considering running polys on the kit all the way around that I mount on the new xj we'll be testing it on just because it cuts down on road noise a lot and will flex just fine. Only down side is that the bushings must be replaced more often than a Johnny Joint.
I'll post more pics when I get the prototype kit back and ready to install and most likely move or start a new thread in the tech section since it will no longer be just talking about it.

Very interested in this, especially if it can work at 2.5". RKs setup supposedly doesn't so I'm boned in terms of a 3 link without fabbing my own.
I'll take one for the price of putting it on my rig and testing it at this height

Also posted on CF. You could do something similar to these, but Brian has a great idea with these, IMO.
Also, I would use lock nuts instead of those nylock nuts. I dont like those.

His looks similar to what I'm making as I'd expect . His looks good but I feel that I can compete with it.
Mine will be a little different though. I will have a front 4 link option as well since it will be simple enough to do using the same brackets.

Just been collecting parts for the kits for now. Nothing really worth posting up for now.
My buddy that has the Cnc plasma to cut the parts went on vacation for 3 weeks but we'll be back to work next week.
I am thinking of building arms out of 2 inch solid tube. I can drill and tap the arms for a 1.25 shank like what is used on a Johnny Joint.
I'll post those up when I get some made.

This idea isnt dead, I just took on too many projects at one time so this is still poking along. Here is a picture of the first brackets being cut out.
