Default Maximum speed in four wheel drive high/low

I have a 1990 XJ 4X4, 4.0, six straight, 33's BF all terrains. What is the recommended maximum speed in four wheel drive in high gear? (I'm going from snow packed to dry pavement on the highway and not wanting to go back and forth stopping to switch from 4X2 to 4X4 as the roadway conditions change) What is the recommended maximum speed in any condition in four wheel low gear???? I don't want to damage my transmission, transfer case, etc. Thanks

In High you can go 55 just fine. Id recommend slower if your on slick roads obviously. In Low you'll top out at about 35.

Also if you have the part time or full time option. Go with full time on the Highway. It will handle higher speed better.

Never ever drive in part-time on dry pavement. 4hi and 4lo are Part time selections. If you have Full-time, you can drive that on any surfice!

Maximum speed on dry pavement in 4LO or 4HI (231 transfer case) or 4 Hi Part time (242 Transfer case) is 0
It is recommended the you do not use them on dry pavement

4 hi is good for any speed 2 hi is

i wouldnt reccomend driving around at 80 mph where 4 wheel drive is needed though.

4 low is good for about 40 mph but i wouldnt reccomend it on a regular basis

Uhh, Okay, so the answer is, not to drive over 55 in 4PT? I've driven it @6o mph on my way home from work due to the time Im on the road (it's really late) and you go from snow to wet to ice.
I dont want to ruin my rig either... so??
