If you want a "Good" CB then that isn't it ... lol that is a really basic unit. I have a Cobra 29 WX NW ST with a Cobra Highgear Power Mic which works very well:

The Uniden Bearcat Pro series CB's are also very nice and not badly priced:

or if you want something really nice then I recommend a Connex, General Lee, Galaxy or RCI but those are really expensive in comparison.

he's right, you definately get what you pay for in Citizen Band radios. i have a $60 truck stop Midland CB and it ranges maybe 1.5 miles at best with clear line of sight.

I got a 15 year old TRC419 (radioshack) for free. And, all the radios are the same, it's what comes with it is what jacks the price up (NOAA, Bluetooth). It's okay if you wanna a $35 uniden, but spend the money is the coax, mount and antenna

Yes all stock radios run 4 watts however that is not the only thing that affects your send and receive. the Finals in the radio play a big part of your transmission capabilities.
However reguardless of that, your match is the most important thing. if you are not matched correctly to your antenna then your range will be drastically affected, if your match is majorly off then you can actually damage your radio ... so make sure ehen you get a CB that after you get it installed you get it matched or get a SWR meter and match it. Don't be one of those guys that hooks a CB up and just expects it to work

I now run a 102" Steel Whip from Radioshack, Astatic Cable with the Cobra 29 NW ST WX and really I wouldn't change a thing.
