Looking For A Jeep Cherokee (Need tips)
I'm 16, and am in search of a Jeep Cherokee. I was wondering which year Cherokee would be the best starting out Cherokee? I was told that a 1997 Jeep Cherokee 2-door, 5-speed would be good but am not quite sure. Im working on trying to sell my current rig (1999 Oldsmobile Bravada, with 101,XXX Miles) for about 4,000. Its well worth that and am trying to sell that so i can have a little spending money to get the right jeep. That way I could get the jeep and than have some cash to do some modification. Any tips on the right rig, good starting mods, pretty much anything is greatly appreciated!

i myself am looking/saving for an xj and heres what i go by:
the 00-01 have had the problems with cracked heads, and the 89-96 are rare to find one with low miles in good shape, so i settled for 97-99 for the updated electronics(power windows, seats, etc..)and they have the newer look and there will be more abundance of that era in good condition with low miles since they arent as old.
just look for one with little to no rust, check under the carpets for rotted floor pans, try to find one with under 160xxx miles, but they have been know to be one of the most reliable vehicles and ive heard on xjs tht go over 300xxx miles. just find one you like, wheel and deal, and build er up.

Oh well i definitely don't want that. Barely working and minimum $$$ So i need to probably get the Strongest, or close to pretty strong jeep. I have a good hook up with a friend in town who Gives me a great deal on everything, and knows pretty much any jeep inside and out. He's pretty cool. Today he gave me a great deal on some sweet rims. I think he said that they were like magnesium or something.
