Question Looking for Help

I have a 1997 Grand Cherokee Limited with the 6 cyl engine. I need to replace the thermostat but i can't get the Fan shroud off. How do you do that? I am on SSD and don't have much money. I can't afford a mechanic to do this. Any help would be deeply appreciated.

if i remember right, you have to take the metal plate that goes across hte top of the radiator off. its like 4 or 6 10mm bolts and lift off. this should let you remove the tranny lines, pull the shroud, and remove the hoses fairly easily

nevermind on the pull hte tranny lines, i don't think you will have to do that. for some reason i was thinking you were pulling the radiator also
