Default looking for a cherokee

Howdy all. I am new to the forum. I am interested in buying an 87' or newer 4WD Cherokee and had a few questions. Do the 87's and up use a straight front axle? Haven't decided on an auto or standard tranny, any problems with one or the other? Last, are there any inherent problems I should look for, like frame breakage or anything that would be a deal killer? Thanks for any input. Tom

I'm not trying to be rude. But do some research on Jeep cherokee. The different trim levels, models, what years came with what, The inherent problems for those years. Read through some of threads already posted. use all that information to determine your preferred model choice, along with your intended use. Everyone has their own particular choice (reasons for that choice.) My self included, I prefer a 1991 Limited, I am quit fond of all the options that came with it. And the first year with the 4.0 HO. It fulfills all my needs.
