When looking to buy a used xj how many miles is too many? I found a 2001 with 160000 on it for 2500.00. That sounds like alot to me but everyone says they run forever?????? I plan on using it as a daily driver as well as off road and hunting vehicle. Looking for any and all help.

Pretty fair price, but beware of the 2000-01 models having cylinder head problems from a casting defect. It's not uncommon to get 300k miles out of a well maintained Cherokee.

 

What kind of maintenance has it had? If it's been rode hard and put away wet, any vehicles gonna be on borrowed time at 160K. Proof of a little TLC by the previous owner(s) and it may be just gettin' broke in.
