So, Im in a bind with some leaf springs right now, and I planned on picking up an angle grinder this summer for some general purpose work because my last cheap one (10 years old) is dead.
So, Im looking at this DeWalt. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00927304000P
Im wondering a few things, like is this a decent overall grinder for cutting and grinding? Is there something better for less or even more money (Im looking to spend $100 or less). If this is a good one, what type of discs should I pic up to cut through leaf springs with?
Thanks in advance for any and all input. Its appreciated.

yeah thats a good one, I have had mine for quite a while now and it gets used a lot. 1/8 and thinner disc will work great for cutting an aluminum oxide disc will cut much better and last longer

Come on, guys, nobody else owns an angle grinder here? What do you have? What do you like/dont like about it? What kind of wheels are you using to cut through bolts, leafs, sheet metal, etc? I know there are a lot of guys here who use angle grinders. Lets get some good info posted, not only for me, but for others looking for them too. Thanks!

For grinders/cutting wheels, i have a mataba (Great) and dewalt for my wire brush/grinding/ Both work great. Although my grandpa got them from a job site. he was on. Go with dewalt. Heck if you only need it a few times go to harbor freight and pick one up. Get a warrenty too. Break it replace and start over.

I've had a 4" from harbor freight for a few years now and no problems. Although i don't use it but a few hours a month, so i may not be the best judge on this one. I like the smaller grinder because if your holding that thing for hours just a slight weight difference can make a big difference on you.
Another thing, the 4" discs can be hard to find, so i would go with a 4.5".
I also have a ryobi 4.5" battery powered angle grinder and the battery seems to go down rather quickly. And you have to hold down the button, no lock.
