Default Looking at a 97' Cherokee

So, my wife and I had our first kid and my ride became her ride. I figured the 2011 altima was a bit safer and easier for kid transporting than the 2d pontiac sunfire she was driving.

Now that I'm stuck with the sunfire I've been looking at getting something cheap and fun that's a little more "me".

I've been digging through various posts about what to look for in the XJs and I think I have what I need to go do a hands on at the stealership.

This is the one I want to go check out.

Seems a little high on the price considering the age of the vehicle so I think I could work them down a bit. I doubt they paid much for it from the previous owner.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Very High in price.

Buying a old XJ in that region of the country is very risky do to all the possible floor rot and hidden rust you can't see yet.

You will need to check real good for rust and if it is rust free and you buy it. Undercoat the crap out of it.

Clean looking jeep though from the pic I would definitly consider giving 3-4 for it.

Yeah you definitely want to check for floor rot and rust. Leaks and such also. Basic stuff. It's much cheaper to buy one privately than from a dealer. Around me, dealers want up to 8k for these tanks.
