Look what I found at the JY today
So I stopped at the jy after I got out of work in need of a new oil dipstick since I snapped the handle off mine messing around with the coil rail. Turns out they didn't have one. Since I was there I figured I would ask about a Chrysler 8.25 axle, since I've been planning to swap one in. They didn't have that either, but turns out they had a shopping cart full of parts for it. My ears perked up when they said ARB air lockers for the 8.25 and Dana HP30 along with a SYE kit. Since I'm a broke college kid I was expecting this to be way too expensive for me but I figured I would ask how much they wanted. They said like $850 for the full cart, which I though was a steal but like I said, I'm broke. I was trying to get just the lockers with instal kits, the compressor and the SYE kit they had. Was all set to get that lot for $700 when that manager came out from the back and told me I could take it for $750 cash if I got it out today. Felt like I couldn't pass that up so ran to the bank and snatched it up.
Everything in the lot
Everything that came with the front locker (I swear it is underneath)
Rear Locker (with a little surface rust)
Both installation kits
Both rings and pinions
RE steel air lines and Skyjacker brake line
Compressor
SYE shaft and Upper Control arms?
The rest of the SYE kit
Didn't take closer pics of the tow hooks and the axle shafts.
TLDR: Went to jy for dipstick, spent $750 for parts I can't use yet and no dipstick.
Think this was a good investment?

This is definitely not the norm with this junkyard. Idk if you ever dealt with M&J in Colchester partsguy but they can be dicks sometimes. Guess the trick is to go in a half hour before close on a Friday haha.
Diesel, that's kind of the plan. Was looking at the RE 3.5" kit but been waiting for the right time to actually be able to do it. Now I'm just one step closer I guess.
