You can put a mount on your steering column for quick access too if your state allows loaded firearms in vehicles.

They do but must be "securely encased" and not available any faster as if it were on my hip.

I'm glad the majority of the folks here have their head screwed on straight.

The above the head rifle mount similar to those used in police cruisers. Only thing I can think of is in a lifted vehicle if it's seen from a car it could cause you problems. They are rifle specific though.

I hang out a lot in areas with feral his...that like to attack...a long gun is nice if you can get it out the window.

I usually have my 1911 under my seat- Might sound silly but directly behind my house (my fence borders it) there is 30 miles of inaccessible (except by foot/horse) forest service. Beyond that in one direction there is a pretty wild wilderness area. We frequently get bears and wolves in the yard and the occasional mountain lion. Carrying groceries in etc I just like having it near by. Also makes me feel better when wheeling, camping, fishing etc.

Right now I have a Benelli R1 30-06 in the back just because I have not taken it out since hunting season- plus probably twice a month me and my buddy go shoot.

I got pulled over not too long ago with a 50 BMG, an AR15, a Saiga 12 gauge and those two in the back. I had Just went shooting at the range with some Ex-Army buddies- Luckily its MT and the cop understood. It took a little bit of explaining though.

Haha that cop was probably wondering who you planned on starting a war with. I carry my G19 always no matter what specially if i have my daughter with me with all these recent shootings on the interstate yes you herd that right I-81 the interstate highway has had 2 shootings within 10 miles of each other in the past month and a half. I got stopped by trooper had my ar in the case right beside me and my glock on my side and it was about 1 in the morning and they were very cool about it and just asked me what all i had done to both of them. I had my ar cause my buddy wanted to see it and the glock because i had just got called into work and you never know what you will encounter when you tell a trucker it cost 2k to fix his reefer on his trailer

While I'm pleased with some of the comments a few were shown to be without merit and lacking any knowledge of facts pertaining to guns/gun ownership.

First off I dismiss most all comments from CA. but do have several good friends there who I have hunted with over the years and other groups who believe as I do.

Turbo XJ I have 3 of those vertical seat back mounts one for AR-16's and the other 2 for a HK-91 and a HK-93 also 2 different mounts for 18" barrel 12ga Riot guns both Rem 870's with rifle sights for slugs.

Handguns no need to discuss that my wife and I have all we need and still practice every week at least 100 rds. of each we use for self defense. I feel sorry for those that did not stock up on ammo a long time ago the only shortage I have is .40S&W on 4,000 rds. of factory we practice with reloads. My wifes weapon of choice for in the home is the 870 riot loaded with #4 buck first 3 rounds then #00 buck 2 rounds and the last 3 riffled slugs for longer range and they will strike a kill zone at 50+ yds easy.

BTY I guess I do live in the sticks now but have lived in many different places in the past CA, Co to name a few to many people with too many issues. Now I live where people know each other and yes about every truck you see has a gun in it and a lot of people carry guns openly in holsters legal in this state. We also have CC for those that want to give info to everyone that they are armed and who to look for when/of if the time comes. Some choose not to do so and carry a pistol anyway.

Well, I live in the area of town that is "gentrified" meaning there are a lot of people that would freak out if they even saw a gun so I CC. I also live on a path from one part of town to the work release program and those guys usually look for easy opportunity theft on the way home so I never leave anything of value in the car, not even change since I got a window busted out of my XJ for that one year. My garage got ransacked and I lost 6K worth of stuff along with a lever action rifle in the trunk of my car that was in the garage so I never leave a gun in the car anymore. If I can't carry it in someplace like a government building, I might but that would be the only reason.

I believe these 2 statements contradict each other. what area do you live in? castleton? I know they don't have any correctional facilties up there haha.

do you partake in the shenanigans that go on downtown with people carrying ar-15s and other rifles around the circle?

My dad got pulled over in Washington State coming home from work at 3 in the morning and when my dad told the cop that he had a CC license but wasn't carrying the cop radioed in for back up. Next thing my dad knows he surrounded by 5 cop cars with the cops guns drawn on him. Needless to say the cop was a total d**k and made a big deal about it when my dad didn't do anything wrong.
