I drive in the rain like its a warm sunny day. It will not spin for crap. just wants to go. If I really get into it I can drift it around, which is also a fun factor. I drive mine everyday on an aussie. I have found that how it acts has a lot to do with the gears and tires. on 33's and stock gears it would click noticeably and worked great. with 35's and stock gears it was louder, and locked up a little quicker. on 35's and 4.88's i dont even notice its there. sometimes I throttle it in a corner to make sure it works and it locks right up.

I'm in the same boat. Tired of having one tire spin and drift when making a left turn. Especially since the rainy season is coming up and I'm 2wd

The only real drawbacks to installing one will be if you tend to have a heavy foot around corners your either going to chirp or slide. Tire wear shouldn't really be any different unless again you have a heavy foot while turning.

Zero gear setup is required to install any of these.

The Spartan is marginally easier to instal due to the design of the pins. We are talking a very small margin, maybe five minutes overall time of install. Also a bit cheaper than the others. ($20)

The Aussie, Lock-Right and No-Slip all install the exact same. The No-Slip comes at a heavy premium for a quieter operation.
Sorry I don't know anything about lockers but the Spartan one only takes 5 minutes to install?

I'm sure he's saying that there is only a five minute difference between install times.

I have had the Powertrax no-slip for about 3 years. Love it. Makes a huge difference off-road and not real noticeable on the streets. just the occasional clunk of it disengaging. And like everybody else said if you accelerate through corners you can tell its there. On ice and snow the back end slips out a little easier in 2wd.

So, what are the pros and cons of locking your daily driver?

I was going to go with a Aussie locker.

I've been told they're an easy install. Do you have to mess with backlash, ect?

I off-road more to recover my friends that for pleasure, but I do take her on the trails.
Do you still have the Dana 35 rear in there? If so, get another rear 1st and then lock it. I've rear numerous posts that guys broke their axle shafts in that rear locked on the street. I just swapped out a perfect D35 with an 8.25 because they're crap. You definately want to upgrade the axle if you're the recovery guy out there with your buddies.

I think the big question might be, do you have the Turd D35 or C8.25?

In a rear application with c-clips probably close to that. On a Dana 30 closer to an hour or so. But I did mean a 5 minute difference.

I think someone else posted this about 12 minutes before you did.

I've got the 8.25 so no worries about the d35

Money is starting to flow again (freaking prom ate EVERYTHING) so once I get a cushion built up again I'll go ahead and get it. Still haven't decided on which brand, as all seem to get good reviews tho.
