I dont have an opinion on this weird discussion. But how is a good quality full suspension kit cheaper then a locker?

Yes! I would love to know where this imaginary suspension is sold.
I've got an E-Locker in the front and a Detroit in the rear, and would love finding a full long arm suspension as cheap as what I paid for the lockers.

Not to mention that there are lockers half the price as yours.

And you drive this every day to work? I would not do it. More power to you though.

If you read the first post it was comparing suspension MODS to AIR LOCKERS.

I wont run any locker in my daily driver that you can't unlock. MOST daily drivers feel this way. I am not talking street legal trucks, shoot you can make legal a full rock rig. I am talking your MAIN transportation here.

You're talking building a suspension set up out of JY parts vs buying an air locker? Even whilst keeping all 4 tires on the ground, there is only so much you can do.

Lunch box in the front is invisible on the street. It only locks when there is power to it. The rear is really only noticeable during corners while you are feeding power to it. On a mainly street XJ, you don't even need a lift. A stock XJ is sufficiently capable with decent tires.

come on man you're trying to tell us that you fine tuned a 2" lift to be comprable to lockers??
just go get a locker, install it, and report back to this thread with an apology for wasting everyones time

IMO.....Learn to drive your jeep and know how it will handle on the trail. Pick the best line and give it a good try, sometimes you will surprise your self when you find out what your jeep will do.....even with open diffs. I see some people that use lockers as a handicap to make up for their poor driving skills or lack the ability to read the trail and pick a good line. Then again there are some trails where lockers are a must.

Shoot with my open diffs I can still continue forward with two opposite tires hanging in the air. There are ways around open diffs.

I just have a slightly modifed xj. But from others I know with high dollar suspension and lockers they are NOT going anywhere I can't. Or maybe they are scared of it who knows?

Lockers are great, have at it. Meanwhile I will be right behind you with a winch in case you have trouble......as soon as I get a winch! LOL

I would like to see the locker only trails you boys are talking about And dont forget to add the picture of your daily driver. Otherwise take your arguments to the ego forum

P.S. The only thing stupid about this thread is the amount of arguing about lockers vs everything else. It was not intended this way.

It was originally to encourage wheeling even though you were not locked. Read up on stock suspension tuning for flex get your truck handling well and be amazed where you can go

Here is my xj. Nothing special at all. But it works. Stock shocks, re packed leafs. And some other things Its not mr flex, but its enough.

Its a work in progress. picture before re-worked leafs and shock mounts.

The trucks to the right and left were wheeling with me. Both on 37's both locked front and rear. End of story.
