He gave you a fix-it ticket. You don't even have to pay it if you fix the problem. And now you're aware of the law.

Do you shout at walls when they're in your way?

And if you have a pricey light bar that cover could save the lens from a rock hitting it at interstate speeds.I know they are tough but could happen.

I wish they had that law here. I plow roads in the winter time and if I had a dollar for every rig I saw last winter running their light bars on the road I would be a rich man. Most don't even bother to turn them off when I would meet them. Made me wanna drive my dump truck right over their rig IDIOTS. Obviously if the cops catch them with the lights on, they would get fined, but they are fortunate we don't have many cops on the roads around here during the night.

If you intend to use it, keep an allen wrench in your glove box and adjust as necessary.Definitely agree they won't bother you and I believe it's a sign of the times and the area in which we live. But where have you heard the part about covering? To my knowledge, there are state statutes in Florida about height and amount of lights (depending on their purpose), but nothing about covering:

Guess it's been changed now. Carry on!

Just don't be THAT guy, driving around with those damn things on.

Haha, when does that ever happen?

Yeah definitely lol. My JK doesn't have all the lights my XJ used to have. Just headlights, foglights, and the windshield bar. The headlights and foglights are both LED and are more than enough for road driving.

Okay I'm knocking this thread off-topic, sorry.

I have had this thought/question on my mind for awhile:

I don't like light bars, I think they look like crap. I much prefer the look of round lights or small square lights. Looks more rugged. Any1 with me?

Yeah, I've seen cracked windshields, but they're glass, and have you seen how big they are lately? Lol

Light bars have a smaller surface area to hit and a super strong polymer vs glass, I'm not seeing it. Lol

Attempted this... instantly regretted it. What kinda man doesn't like the concept behind owning majorly bright lights that no one actually needs?

This is vehicle code in PA and NJ as well. Anything above the headlights must be covered while operated on the highway. The more guys that drive with these lights on the more the cops will have to enforce this law.

I was scratching my head quite a bit sitting through PA vehicle code for inspection class. Love the one "tires cannot stick out past the fenders but you cannot have fender flares larger than 3 inches".....

+1, give me 4 round KC lights over a light bar any day. I would be ok with the square "light cubes" but if it's a rectangle I'm going to pass.
