Default Light Bar

I'm sure there are post on here about it... But I'm new here. And just wanted to ask. I have 4 Lights I want to mount and wire to the roof of my XJ. Would mounting them on existing Roof Rack Crossmember be ok for shining light on the trail. Or I've seen some pictures of people that have a bar that goes closer to the windshield but if I google it Don't really take me anywhere. I was to do two inside light straight out and the two outside ones turned slightly out. Will be running off two separate switches

Thanks

I have 4 6" lights in the center and 2 lights that light up the sides of the trail mounted on a factory roof cross bar.
I added 2 flat bars that attatch to my roof basket via small c clamps to help with stability.

How did u get your roof rack to extend. I looked at a picture of mine and my front cross bar only goes as far as the rear doors... I see in yours the front cross bar is up by the front doors

Mine is a 97, some XJ's have the longer rails like mine, and some the shorter ones like yours. I couldn't tell you which years had which.

If yours has the shorter rails you might want to look into a gutter mount light bar made by CARR to get you lights far enough forward.
