Default Lifting option. Need advice

K so I have done some searching and found that whatever lift coil fits a tj will lift an xj one inch less . So if this is true I was going to get 6 inch lift coils which should put me at a 5 inch lift. And adjust my rear according to the front. Does this seem like a decent plan or am I just pissin in the wind?

TJ coils are much softer as well. I'm running them and it's very flexy but wouldn't drive it on the street. Better off just using parts for an XJ.

Why not drive on street with them coils? Mine right now feels like a log wagon. Every bump feels like your teeth are getting knocked out

I can pull mine down on the side about 6-8 inches with one hand, imagine taking a corner at a decent speed. XJs are heavier than TJs that's why you get less lift.

Takin a wild guess here but with the tj coils being substantially softer, your gonna go from a wagon to a bouncy, flimsey feeling ride...

What springs are you running? Any lift spring will be a little rough at first but usually soften up. I've ran RE, Rustys and RC, loved the first two but the RC were a bit stiffer but once broken in were OK. A lifted jeep doesn't ride like a caddy.

Not sure what's under it. Was lifted when I got it. I have had 4 other lifted vehicles and none was this bad.

My BDS coils were pretty stiff, and I was running cheapo nitro shocks, now I'm running RC coils and resivoired oil/gas shocks and it makes the difference. You sure your shocks aren't shot?

Need more info on the setup. The coils might not be the problem. Control arm angle plays a big part. How much lift do you have? Do you have adjustable arms? Control arm drop brackets? Anything above 4inches with stock control arms will be bouncy and uncomfortable. Maybe a pic of your front end?

I can get a pic. No idea what size or brand a lift. It was on it when I got it. Been wanting to just junk all of it and get a rustys full kit so I know what I have but not in the funds right now

Yeah. Different springs wont help much if you have a crazy control arm angle.
